Bergmannhof

Pad 15 | C5 desk 18
The Bergmannhof is located in Appiano, east of Bolzano, with views of the Dolomites. Since 1851, the estate has been owned by the Pichler family. Deep soils of calcareous gravel and clay provide ideal conditions for indigenous varieties such as Schiava and Lagrein, as well as international classics like Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. What makes Bergmannhof special: • Organic, nature-focused viticulture – manual care of the vines and exclusively hand harvesting. • Minimal-intervention winemaking – the grapes are vinified with minimal intervention; aging in wood and amphora, always on the lees, results in vibrant, profound wines. • Terroir and climate – most vineyards are situated at around 300 meters above sea level, in a warm area on calcareous soils, benefiting from strong autumn day–night temperature variations. • A family estate with soul – a home to many generations. Here, wines of character are born, shaped by the vintage and expressing origin and craftsmanship.
