The Italian Amaro Fair
Founded in 2019, The Italian Amaro Fair is the first national event entirely dedicated to amaro and its producers.
Created in Bologna by Amaroteca, an organization devoted to promoting and enhancing the culture of Italian amaro, and ANADI – Associazione Nazionale Amaro d’Italia, the event brings together tradition, research and creativity through tastings, educational activities and special events.
Since 2023, The Italian Amaro Fair has been held as part of Slow Wine Fair, where Amaroteca curates the exhibition area dedicated to Italian amari and organizes a program of talks and initiatives that foster dialogue among producers, trade professionals and enthusiasts, helping to spread a culture of mindful drinking.
Fiera dell'Amaro d'Italia is the leading event for high-quality producers, offering an ideal showcase to present their amari and share the stories behind their products, their distinctive characteristics, and their connections to local territories and traditions.
At the heart of the exhibition is the Mixology Lab. In this showcase, exhibitors from the The Italian Amaro Fair, together with spirits producers, present their labels and explain their production methods and defining features: from the use of local ingredients sourced from sustainable farming to low-impact crop protection, organic fertilization and the other sustainability requirements needed to take part in the event.
Professional bartenders showcase these products in original cocktails available for tasting by visitors. The same products are also featured in selected bars and restaurants across Bologna during the AmarOff events.
