Slow Wine Fair 2026: What’s Back and What’s New

From February 22 to 24 winegrowers and winemakers, wine enthusiasts and wine professionals—buyers, restaurateurs, wine shop owners, wine bar managers, distributors, cooks and sommeliers—will once again come together in Bologna to celebrate and discuss good, clean and fair wine.

Organized by BolognaFiere and conceived by Slow Food, the Slow Wine Fair is an international event dedicated to wines born from sustainable viticulture, respectful of biodiversity and the landscape, aimed at supporting rural communities and raising consumer awareness about the cultural value of wine.

The event hosts the international meeting of the Slow Wine Coalition, the inclusive and collaborative global network that brings together key figures from the world of wine. During the three days of the Slow Wine Fair, hundreds of producers from every region of Italy and around the world will gather at BolognaFiere to discuss the future of wine and viticulture.

But the Slow Wine Fair is not just for winemakers and winegrowers. The event is also dedicated to enthusiasts and trade professionals, who can enjoy a rich program of talks and tastings while sampling thousands of wine labels from around the world, all selected by a panel of experts. The exhibition area is further enriched by the participation of FederBio, the Italian Federation for Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture.

Slow Wine Fair 2026: What’s New and What’s Back

Each Slow Wine Fair edition focuses on a central theme, connected to previous years’ themes and explored through conferences and dedicated talks. After addressing the climate crisis (2023), soil fertility (2024) and sustainability throughout the entire supply chain (2025), in 2026 we will shine a light on wine as a driver of inclusion and social development. This means that we will not only be highlighting wineries that adopt viticulture and packaging systems mindful of resource use, but will also be considering other essential aspects of wine production: first and foremost, social issues related to wine and its production. To learn more, visit the dedicated page (link to theme development page).

Between returning highlights and new additions, here’s everything you’ll find at the 2026 Slow Wine Fair:

  • Wines: Over 1,000 exhibiting wineries from Italy and abroad, organized by country and Italian region into presentation islands, will fill pavilions 15 and 20 of BolognaFiere. Slow Wine Fair winemakers and winegrowers all share a common commitment, having pledged to actively uphold the Manifesto for Good, Clean and Fair Wine, pledging to protect the environment and its resources, to respect the landscape and terroir of origin, to support the agricultural community they represent and to promote biodiversity. Visit the dedicated page
  • Amaro and spirits: The area dedicated to spirits aims to engage the mixology world, with thematic sections including one focused on amaro (bitters), revolving around the sixth edition of the Fiera dell’Amaro d’Italia, organized in collaboration with Amaroteca and ANADI, the Italian national amaro association. Visit the dedicated page
  • Supply chain partners: Within the concept of virtuous circular production, the supply chain plays a key role in supporting producers’ efforts to reduce environmental impact. A Slow Wine Fair exhibition area is reserved for wine-trade suppliers who, through innovative machinery, equipment and technology, are helping renew the agricultural system and allowing winemakers to adopt sustainable and environmentally respectful production methods. Visit the dedicated page
  • Coffee: Returning to Slow Wine Fair are the roasters and experts of the Slow Food Coffee Coalition, the international network that connects actors all along the coffee supply chain. This is a unique opportunity to learn how to taste coffee consciously, recognize and choose high-quality coffee and discover the many similarities between wine and coffee. Visit the dedicated page
  • Ciders: After their success in 2025, this edition will see the return of cider producers. Visitors can explore the deep roots fermented pressed apple juice has within the culture of Europe, where it was widely enjoyed long before the introduction of coffee, tea and chocolate. Now that cider is regaining popularity, it’s time to deepen our understanding of this fascinating beverage. Visit the dedicated page
  • The “Terroir and Spirito Slow” Wine List Award: This award, chosen by the public and a panel of experts, celebrates the best Italian and international wine lists. It returns in 2026 with new regional categories and reconfirms the section dedicated to amaro.
  • All of the programmed activities will be returning, including Masterclasses, conferences and Off events.
  • Last but not least: The Slow Wine Fair takes place alongside SANA Food, a new concept event dedicated to healthy eating, which welcomes 10,000 food-and-beverage professionals, enriching the experience for both visitors and exhibitors. We’ll be waiting for you in Pavilion 18, where your Slow Wine Fair ticket is also valid for entry.
